	I paint realistic portrayals of Western Australian landscape. My fascination has been with the painters Constable, Carot, Heysen, Streeton and other plein air painters because of their capacity to manipulate their palette to translate light into paint. The landscape and seascape compositions that I create express my attraction to atmospheric light. Light, atmosphere, time of day, a sense of deep space and a composition that simply leads the viewers to want to look again and experience their own peace. I invite the viewer to remember moments of their own journey when they felt at ease in the landscape. I work to eliminate the distractions of detail and try to preserve the essence of the scene. I paint to create an atmosphere of light whether in an apple, landscape or portrait.
